Nissin Quick & Easy Chow Mein - Chcken Flavored

Nissin Quick & Easy Chow Mein - Chcken Flavored, microwaveable.

Chicken Chow Mein entree has a sweet dark soy type sauce. Using the modified cooking direction, it tasted quite good. The dried cabbage expanded quite a bit to give more substance to the noodles.

The plastic serving tray is microwaveable but the cover is not, however I find that it tasted much better if you covered it while cooking. I put the cover upside down so that the steam can escape. As prepared, the noodles came out the way I liked it, steaming moist and hot.

After microwaving don’t be afraid of the water that still remains, the seasonings get more even with the noodles on the wet side and the flavoring is more than adequate. In fact, I prefer it on the wet side for this entree and add water just above the line before microwaving.

Suggested Cooking Directions (Better):
  1. Open lid, take out both packets.
  2. Pour content of dry ingredients packet around the sides of noodles and add water to the inside line - about 3/4 cup.
  3. Place lid upside down squarely over tray and cook in microwave for 6 minutes.
  4. (Caution: stream will be hot) Add content of liquid sauce packets on noodles, stir well and serve.

  1. noodleson Says:

I had previously cooked it according to the package directions and it came out kind of dry and not as tasty.

  2. Sauce Says:

I made some modifications to the directions to overcome the dryness and tastiness. I usually put the cover back on as soon as it is out of the microwave and let it stand like that for 1-2 minutes. Isn’t the best noodles I have had but pretty good for being cooked in the microwave.
