Japanese Style Udon Bowl
September 26th, 2005

True conneisseurs should at least try this one, just to see how good an instant noodle soup can be.
The fresh-packed noodle sealed in a clear pouch is as good as the Udon you’ll find at any Asian grocery. As prepared, the noodle soup looked really good with slices of fish cakes, tiny brown wheat vegetable dumpling, and green vegetable in a rich reddish brown broth, with a delicious rich sweet spicy soy sauce flavor.
It tasted like what you mght get at a typical resturant, it’s that good. About the only thing holding it back from a five star rating is the amount of toppings other than the noodles.
Suggested Cooking Directions
- Boil 2 cups of water.
- Open the lid and remove all 4 packets.
- Open fresh noodles packet, add to bowl, add boiling water to inside line - 1 cup, close over, let stand 2 minutes, and then carefully pour out water through cover (keep cover close) as marked on cover.
- Open cover, add contents of liquid packet, solids packet and optional pepper packet (spicy), add boiling water to inside line, cover and let stand another 1 minute.
- Open cover, stir well and serve.

I loved this one, the taste was perfect, I didn’t add anything to it! I would recommend the noodle be cooked a little while longer to make them slightly softer, but other than that, this was a delicious soup, and due to the thickness of the noodles, it was very filling and satifying! I would definitely buy this one again as well!

wow, the noodles in this are so broad! udon noodles are bigger and more filling than spagetti (very!) and the sauce for this was so exquisite, this is definatly worth a try! there may not seem like much when you open it, but there is plenty for a good meal!
